what was a 1200 like compared to a muirhill for grip
Similar I would think.

The secret was getting so much weight over the front wheels.
The 1200 would turn much sharper. It wasn’t that powerful, but the grip was amazing.

Fantastic to use on a conventional baler. You could see over the baler to keep an eye on the accumulater.

Absolutely fantastic to reverse any trailer with.

The only thing that would have been nice was a 540 PTO as well as a 1000.

You felt like a King driving them.

The 1250 still had loads of oil leaks!

A Power harrow is what you need.
I thought that. @New Puritan that's a nice cultivator but more use in stubble/unploughed ground.
If you don't have a PH, you need some shallower type tines and some levellers, dutch harrows are good and cheap.
Also keep interspersing cultivations with a roll to crush clods. i take it you have rolls?
But a PH will be easier!

@Lincsman & @Flat 10 - I know, I know... It was an experiment really, and I thought I'd upload a picture as it made a change. That field has given me a lot of trouble, and I wanted to try and make the PH job slightly easier. I tried rolling it but it made little difference (I roll all the others after ploughing).

From previous experience I know if I went straight onto that field with the PH I'd be going along in low 1st and still have to do some bits twice. I'll probably get in trouble with the tillage police now I've admitted this on here :)
