Grandad bought ours new in 1975 off shukers in Newtown still goes well.
Same baler as a 20 just slightly narrower pickup reel.

This one was new in 1976 that hot summer, from Willis Bros, I think it cost about £1000 but if my memory is correct we had about 250 for the old New holland 276,

He's got a 3 wheel model B as well.
Model B here father has done up over the last few years. Haven't even worn the rubber nobbles off the tyres yet. Father used to do most farm operations with them but very few implements will fit them now. 15' flexitime on the 730 would give a 2140 a run for it's money. Absolute bugger to reverse artic trailers with the hand clutch! I have't a lot of patience for them as I just want to get on. They may come out of storage once the next generation take the work on.

A few of our past and present classics at work and rest,.the 701 baler took 2 years to restore, but does 600 bales of straw most years, the mf 20 was a barn find, parked up for nearly 15 years, brought back into work 3 years ago after refurbishing the knotters.the 135 stays on the sawbench all winter, used for light dutys autumn cultivating, the mf 30 drill is used every year to drill our crops ,does a good job.

We don't like delivering, if they cant come, throw it in the shed. We would put them into 17 and lift them to the gate, lightly cover and see what the markets like. But everywhere is different, asking for delivery usually means putting payment on the long finger around these parts. Which isn't ideal, don't mind a bit of credit, but it takes the good out of the thing.

Great pictures by the way ......................

delivering it is a pain in the backside, but those lovley bits of paper with the queens photo make it worth while, what i want is enough cheap trailers to not have to unload any, just load them up n back into shed to clear field

Absolutely, cheap trailers are the way to go. I have my eye on a few 6 studded twin wheel back axles out of an old LDV pickup. But, we still don't like delivering .................... ;)
