Were Universal part of the Fiat group?

In the 1970’s, my grandfather gave his men a choice in which make of tractor they all had. Most of them decided to have a Fiat and IIRC, they said Fiat Universal on the bonnet. They were good tractors too.

Think they may have been, styling is similar. Earlier U651 tractors had different styling. when they were called a U651m the styling changed.
Years ago we had a Fiat 450 DT which was really a Universal in Fiat colours

My two old girls at work this afternoon, 31degC, straw smashed to bits necessitating 1st gear speed to try and stop all the wheat going up the walkers.
Viscount drilled 5th Nov, had 9 full 10 ton trailers and a bit in tank off 20.5 ac.
Pleased.
