Main tractor having the first engine work done after 24 years and 14k hours so had to downgrade (?) to the Dexta, the rollers are even older.

Doesn't matter how old they are they doing the job just as well as a new set up costing many thousands of pounds, and no chance of the air conditioning breaking down.
Lovely photo, takes me back!

Thanks, no joy in pulling the rollers in and out tho!

Make life easy for yourself! l leave two or three sets ready to roll on different land blocks. Make 24’ gaps/gateways between arable fields within the block and you never need to fold them up, nor need to take off the combine header if they are under 22’ as they are in this area.

I accept that it might not work for everyone, hence the proliferation of hydraulic folding rolls. But it is still relatively cheap to have a few sets of old triples set up ready for work on different blocks of land, and no slipped discs or hernias.

I adopted that idea about 25 yr ago
Rollers all ready to go, just a drop of oil needed.
Could have half it done before you got back with the folding set

Ah! You Scots always were a canny lot!
So many years, if not aeons, in advance of us Welsh! Took me thirty years and two brain transplants to think of it, and I still can’t work out whether the big roller goes right back or left back.
