I am a little older than the 523 and would have appreciated power steering. It is best with a heavy implement on the back. It is terrific at pulling. I think they were too expensive at the time compared with the Ford 4000 etc.

Bingo, the 4000, another 3 pot lugger like the MF 35. 4 pot 5000 or Nuff/Leyland just die under load. Never driven a MF 65/165 yet DB have a reputation too.

It is a new piece of land we have taken over. Previously it was broccoli but after 16 inches of rain in 30 days it got very weedy we mowed it disced it twice subsoiled bedformed it bedtilled it and planted it so there is a lot of organic matter. In the middle of the block where the rows bend there was a track which was very grassy with water grass which is a bit like twitch ( couch). We are working on the other half so I could post some pictures of the process.

Sold ours last September with over 200000 miles on it, getting expensive to put it through mot we thought by the end, rear tub rotten trough, bushes, and so on, but chassis like new on it. It's still going strong though, the bloke who bought it put an mot on it.

Flat as sh!t, but I did enjoy driving it.

Surely that would be a good basis for a ute, cut off the back doors and tub, stick on a flat bed?

Thought about it, but been taking ground on further from home and was right time for an upgrade, got another hilux now and don't know if I'd want to go back to the old one for every day use, just hope this one will last somewhere near as long.
