My two beauties parked up for a while after a busy year.
Is it me, or does everybody prefer to drive these classics rather than our main line tractors?
No excuses needed!

Wish I had a shed space to tip beet in.....
Always fancied a Lamborghini, don’t know why, just look in proportion somehow.
The shed is a bit of a luxury. The lorry can even drive in and load inside. As the driver says, the only place he can get out of his cab in his slippers to load beet. No pad outside though. I have always thought an outside concrete pad would be extremely useful but we never got round to laying one.

I did a lot of Cambridge rolling with our old caseih 956 this year and I was surprised how much I enjoyed it because there were no screens to worry about, no alarms, I wasnt in a hermetically sealed cab so had fresh air through the windows, and of course the lovely sound and smell of the IH 358 engine at about 1800 revs through the day.

In 1985 we had a brilliant 6cyl Lambo on demo, unfortunately we bought a 4cyl 85hp one. It was ok but we asked a hell of a lot from it and it was left wanting. :(
The 105 is 4 cylinder and quite "short nosed" so tends to nod and bounce on the road. Looks better than it drives! I'd say more of a livestock than heavy draft tractor as well. Very light for the power which is good for some jobs but a bit short of traction for others. The Renault Temis 630Z is twice the tractor for draft work.

The Lambo overalls however lasted about 10 years.

Do you find her light on the front/ handle it alright, you've plenty weight on front, i'm looking to put same hedger on similar weight tractor/will i need full set weights ?, my son reckon not heavy enough at full reach, i'm hoping ok don't want to tie my big tractor up

As soon as I saw the picture I thought how back in the day a 7610 would have been considered plenty big enough to handle a trimmer, but nowadays people seem to want use a monster tractor for trimming.

Used to be that a 5000 or 590 (both 2wd) were the usual trimmer tractors. I used to do a lot of trimming with a 2wd JD 2040

Used a db 996 for hedging when I started trimming 44 years ago now tm120 but the first had a 4mtr Fisher Humphries tm has 6.5 telescopic shelborne, I expect there isnt much difference in weight balance, run it in eco 540 pto can do several days on a tank of fuel

Bet the tank on a tm is a little bigger than on the DB996 tho
