Looks nice that...
Will you make the roof white again? ;)
That tractor never had a white roof. It is one of the last ever of the 40 series ‘Blue’ roof SLE’s with the ‘quad box’.
You can tell by the grab handles and positioning of the mirrors on the cab.

Edit:
Upon closer inspection I can see that @agrimax is correct. See post 6567.

Yeah it needs roof putting back to white, I’ll have a look on closer inspection!
Had it have been one of the very last, the transfer stickers would have said New Holland and been a different style. The chassis /skid unit would have been grey, not blue and the badge on the front would be an NH symbol.
As were were the last but one, first ‘Blue’ roofs, but with those transfer stickers that are on your’s now.

Somebody has either changed or painted the roof. You could hand paint Hammerite White Smooth on the cab, which would get it almost back to the original and use the same paint on the wheels to go over the rusty bits.
I did this on both by white roof 7740SLE and my blue roof 8340SLE and they look good.

The ‘quad box’ gearbox on all the true ‘Blue roofs’ was superior to the ‘White roof’ versions, giving a smoother clutch, without the need to re-calibrate it so often.

But, apart from the roof on yours, she looks a nice tractor.

If there has been a lid replacement after 1995ish on the insurance etc then that would have been blue.
Looks like it might have been powerwashed off a bit though?

Send me some pics of rear end Joe.

That would be the best way to devalue the tractor by a big margin ! People want originality, or a dam good job of refurbishing.
A tractor dealer not far from me "refurbished" (painted) a Ford 10 series. From about 300 yards on a foggy day it looked all right, he probably spent a few bob getting it painted, close up it was a mess, he should have saved his money and sold it in its original clothes. Do it properly, or don't do it at all !

It won’t be hand brushed. It’ll be properly sprayed. The only thing I paint with a brush is fencing
I think you might be surprised how well the finish is with Hammerite smooth. One tractor I hand painted the wheels and the other I spray painted and you have to look very hard to tell the difference.

These are my Working Classiss and I want them the way I want them.

My 7740 (hand painted wheel rims and centres) won the Moreton Show modern Classics section in 2018, so it can’t have been too bad a job!
