What other option would I have. I gave no other form of income except the farm and cutting back cuts yield. With all other inputs up as well fertilizer is the one that has proven to be an input that can’t be cut back on. it was bought reasonably well in November but the phosphate was in storage while dealer was shut down for repairs. Can’t even get a price on any type of fertilizer now and deliveries are looking doubtful on some already paid for.I would lose sleep having to pay for that. Just bigger farms have bigger bills I suppose.
My idea of farming heaven out there if your ever short of help I'd pop over en give you a hand! The magnum import still making its self important
I’ve based everything around just me except for harvest time. Although I have a retired friend that helps out. He likes to keep busy which is handy. I also do contract work for a couple of others and they like to work off some of their bills. Never a shortness of farmers looking fir help thou. With the oil patch going to suck workers back in now oil is in demand farm workers will be tough to find.My idea of farming heaven out there if your ever short of help I'd pop over en give you a hand!

at least the tractor will no sink …!!!Would be handy if he comes across some big stones
Wife will help if asked but with young kids it’s not possible Much of the time. I have a retired friend that will drive the lorries at harvest time and seeding but he’s not intrested in sitting on a tractor. Two step sons in their late teens are no use and won’t even help themselves let alone do work. My two daughters are 6and 7 so some time before I’ll even know it they are intrested in the farm but I doubt it. I can’t see it going past me.Bloody hell when you mean on your own your family must help surely sons daughters wife etc

I moved here 21 years ago. doesnt seem that long until I look in the mirror, had good years and bad but I’m happy I moved when I start reading about all the rule and regulations you guys have to contend with. Here it’s coming but mostly farmers are not squeezed to hard as far as regulation go So I might be done by the time it gets frustrating. Can’t say I miss home except when I see pictures of the good looking crops this time of year while I’m still looking at snow. Are you native to there or move over?
You should start a thread about it cos I find that very interesting and I bet I'm not the only one I've got a hundred questions I'd be asking youI moved here 21 years ago. doesnt seem that long until I look in the mirror, had good years and bad but I’m happy I moved when I start reading about all the rule and regulations you guys have to contend with.
