Were the white roofs optional, my dad has a 3000 without, but it was bought secondhand so might have been removed, as it only just goes under his shed door as it isView attachment 1043659View attachment 1043660

Would a hump windscreen cab be a lower overall height than the straight screen type and were there any other differences?7000 - 1973
5000 - 1972
4000 - 1970
3000 - 1975
2000 - 1974
The 2000 / 3000 had the hump in the windscreen throughout production. It was the larger 4/5/7 models which did away with the hump after late 73.
No the frame was always the same, just the front panels adjusted, to take a cheaper glass??Would a hump windscreen cab be a lower overall height than the straight screen type and were there any other differences?
I think it was optional to lower it, there was a 3000 locally like that from new. Were the white roofs optional, my dad has a 3000 without, but it was bought secondhand so might have been removed, as it only just goes under his shed door as it is
We imported two 4000’s to Kenya when we started .Our P reg and our neighbours L reg. Dad took the cabs off so when we rebuilt them my people got the windscreens on the wrong tractors and were quite miffed when i made them swap around but it just wasn’t right. No the frame was always the same, just the front panels adjusted, to take a cheaper glass??
They changed to the metal roof in 73/74 because the vinyl roof had a tendency to let rain in.View attachment 1043829
You could get a low profile cab so instead of the standard roof with the Ford sticker on you got basically just a simple flat tin roof which could fold up at the front.
I’ve a 3000 with it on. Everything thinks its missing its roof
