Lucky i put it 2 inches down, no sap in top inchJethro Tull said a massey 30 drill was way overkill and massive expense just to put a few seeds 1" deep in a row when it was launched!

Turn in his grave at some of them now then............that do the same job in the end.Jethro Tull said a massey 30 drill was way overkill and massive expense just to put a few seeds 1" deep in a row when it was launched!
I'd think there's plenty about yet, just not fashionable now. there's a 4 meter one beside me hasn't moved for 20 years.I wonder is our 2 Massey 30’s the only 1’s going in the peninsula?
Consider a light footprint with a sip of fuel. Once said 'if you need 4WD, you shouldn't be on the land'. Power harrows force a seedbed with a diesel cost. A wet Jan/Feb became a dry March/April, adapt.View attachment 871180

Power harrows make a seedbed without tractive effort, so causing less deeper soil damage, especially if duals are used.Consider a light footprint with a sip of fuel. Thank you, she is quite a peach and must have been some machine back in 1978 still pretty comfortable even by today's standards.Lovely tractor that.
There used to be a 4440 with the hydraulic front next door, I seem to think it was on an R reg’, 1976/7.Thank you, she is quite a peach and must have been some machine back in 1978 still pretty comfortable even by today's standards.
This is on a T plate age related as it was actually imported from France about 7 years ago. Only other John Deeres on farm are a 1973 2130 which was First JD we had on farm from new and a 2001 6410 from new. We used to run all Deeres from 1973 upto 2001 but I started to think they are trading on past glories, definitely not as well made as they once were and not good value in my opinion, now run New Holland and are fairly happy with them, the 6410 is great tractor. There used to be a 4440 with the hydraulic front next door, I seem to think it was on an R reg’, 1976/7.
A friend has two 4440 2wd both on a V plate, nice old tractors.
Really like to see a well cared for tractor still doing as intended ? Any others in your fleet ?
I like a farmhand loader but you need some bigger wheels in that tractor
She does really but doesn't do a great amount now, those are second hand van tyres on front?I like a farmhand loader but you need some bigger wheels in that tractor
6410 also looks really good.
I drove a v reg 4440 with HFWD on an estate in Dorset during 1983. Was a real animal to pull. There used to be a 4440 with the hydraulic front next door, I seem to think it was on an R reg’, 1976/7.

Looking well but did you really need a 3cx to dig it??View attachment 871974View attachment 871975View attachment 871976Sowing this years potatoes this week.
What do the wireworm think of spuds in grass? Better in bin-bags with peat. Some joker on youtube growing spuds above ground with a hay mulch. As a stem tuber you might try peanuts too. And slugs love fresh dung.
