I'm not a big 90/94 series fan but that is nice, it just looks right. What size tyres is it on? 16.9x34 rears? 9.00x16 fronts?View attachment 901216
The latest addition to the fleet. Sold my old MF 50 and replaced it with this
They are 450/70/34 on the back. Would that be something like an 18.4?I'm not a big 90/94 series fan but that is nice, it just looks right. What size tyres is it on? 16.9x34 rears? 9.00x16 fronts?
Know of one on 16.9x30 and 7.50x16 that the owner wants to fit bigger but isn't sure what would suit it and keep it sitting level.
480/70r34? Roughly the same width as an 18.4 but same height as a 16.9. It definitely looks the part. Heavy front axle does set them up but is needed for loader work with wide front tyres and apparently makes the steering a lot lighter. I'm on the look out for a couple of early 1210 axles for our 996s.They are 450/70/34 on the back. Would that be something like an 18.4?
The fronts are 1000x16
It’s on the heavier 1490 front axle too which might set it up a bit.
900x16 or 1000x16 would be a good enough combination with a 16.9x34

Sorry yes 480/70/34. Yes the axle makes a job of them480/70r34? Roughly the same width as an 18.4 but same height as a 16.9. It definitely looks the part. Start at the back which is completed. And as I set the last bale on the last strap can go on.How can you tie a load down before you've finished loading it?
Will the 1210 axle fit without much trouble I'm assuming the steering ram still runs along side the engine not across the axle. Could do with heavier axle on our 996 too480/70r34? I’m not sure about the 1210 axle but the 14 series axle that’s in mine has a different steering set up, no ram down the side. As far as I know the normal process is to fit this axle back to front as the sump would be in the way of the steering. Mine has had the sump reshaped to take the axle rather than the axle put in back to frontWill the 1210 axle fit without much trouble I'm assuming the steering ram still runs along side the engine not across the axle. The heavy axle was a factory option so as long as you get an axle out of an early 1210/12 that had side ram steering it's a straight swap. Will the 1210 axle fit without much trouble I'm assuming the steering ram still runs along side the engine not across the axle. Any idea if a 1494 axle would fit ? Would probably need fair bit of work to fit . Got most of one here of neighbours sands sprayer done very little work as was mostly on high clear axleThe heavy axle was a factory option so as long as you get an axle out of an early 1210/12 that had side ram steering it's a straight swap.
Don't see why it wouldn't fit. If there's anything I'm not sure about I check the parts catalogue on the Case IH website. If the part number for the pin that holds the 2 axles in is the same I'd say it's fair to assume it's a straight swap. Easiest way to put a later heavy axle with centre steering might be to remove the steering setup from the axle and retain your existing side steering if you can get the arms and link off an older heavy axle.Any idea if a 1494 axle would fit ? The 1494 axle will likely have the same steering set up as that 1394 of mine has now got. It won’t fit if facing the rite direction as the axle is to close to the sump. Apparently you can fit it back to front and put the steering part out the front. Or else you could maybe use the original steering set up and just use the heavier beam and join it up to the steering that’s there. The sump has been altered on my 1394 to take the big axle facing the rite directionAny idea if a 1494 axle would fit ? Would probably need fair bit of work to fit . Yes liebherr 922. All 20 odd tonne of it. Slurry loader and rubble crusher mostly. It's a beast! Bucket is a bit large for post holes though. You dont see many of those about..A Liebherr i presume
