You were lucky! All of you was lucky I use to push wheat sheaves under hot tin roof when we grew wheat for thatching
It is pictured! What I meant was did it have a Safety Cab or a Q Cab?
complete with 3 cyl exhaustIt is pictured!
I now know as I wasn't paying attention to the first post! Foolish of me wasn't it?!It is pictured!
Yes thats what was used for the first ones that needed to be quiet, (1976) later they fitted a more basic one the AP cab, the Q cab was the best ever fitted to a 4600.So your Ford 4600 has a Q Cab.
So the 7A2 Q Cabbed tractors had a lot less sound in the cab than a Safety Cabbed Ford tractor like my 1975 7A1 Ford 4600 Safety Cab.Yes thats what was used for the first ones that needed to be quiet, (1976) later they fitted a more basic one the AP cab, the Q cab was the best ever fitted to a 4600.
Way less... a revolution in cab comfort. So the 7A2 Q Cabbed tractors had a lot less sound in the cab than a Safety Cabbed Ford tractor like my 1975 7A1 Ford 4600 Safety Cab.
The Lambourne cab wasn't a bad middle ground - a fair bit quieter, if you needed low profile. I thought LP/AP didn't appear until 10 Series?Yes thats what was used for the first ones that needed to be quiet, (1976) later they fitted a more basic one the AP cab, the Q cab was the best ever fitted to a 4600.

Yes definitely! It’s funny how opinions differ. Whilst it may have been reasonably quiet, I always think the early bubble cabs were the most horrendous cabs I’ve ever had the misfortune to drive in.
Whoever thought the spool lever was well placed under the seat needed it pushing somewhere sensitive to make them think about it.
Compared with anything available at the time they were pretty good. I’ve still got a 4600 with the bubble cab and it still pretty good drive for a 43 year old tractor. The sun roof on the John Deere OPU was a cool thing but in 1976 the Ford cab was luxurious. It’s funny how opinions differ. We had both cabs at the time, the bubble cab was light years ahead, car like solid shutting doors that even glass only ones cannot match nowadays. It’s funny how opinions differ. I think your right, and the super Q cab was never fitted to a 3 cylinder that i remember? The Lambourne cab wasn't a bad middle ground - a fair bit quieter, if you needed low profile. I thought LP/AP didn't appear until 10 Series?
