All of you was lucky I use to push wheat sheaves under hot tin roof when we grew wheat for thatching
You were lucky!

When we was young we had to clean out pigs before us breakfast.
Then at half five we had to go out again ‘n pull up mangels int snow with nowt on us feet but wrapped up old newspapers!

And thankful for it we was, the family next door only had one turnip to eat between thirteen of ‘em: and it ‘ad to last ‘em for two weeks!

So donst thy go on moaning about thy poncey sheaves up int roof: some of us never even ‘ad a roof to sleep under. So think on…..

Way less... a revolution in cab comfort.

It’s funny how opinions differ. Whilst it may have been reasonably quiet, I always think the early bubble cabs were the most horrendous cabs I’ve ever had the misfortune to drive in.
Whoever thought the spool lever was well placed under the seat needed it pushing somewhere sensitive to make them think about it.

Yes definitely!
We had a 600 series MF, and our neighbour a 6600 with the Q cab, he also had an IH 956with the XL cab.
To me both the MF and IH cabs were far nicer places to work in for a day and to get in and out of.

Compared with anything available at the time they were pretty good. I’ve still got a 4600 with the bubble cab and it still pretty good drive for a 43 year old tractor. The sun roof on the John Deere OPU was a cool thing but in 1976 the Ford cab was luxurious.

We had a q cabed, rubix cube 6610 with dealer added extra double acting spool so one either side of seat, pto on handbrake side, 3rd gear was nearer to the front weights than the driver seat and if you didn’t break your ribs or remove some skin on the side lights bracket you would trip on the clutch pedal on way in!! With a slurry guzzler on the back needing the two spools and pto used nearly at same time you would replicate a gymnast in the cab and just leave the steering to sort itself!!! Then you would have warm days……

We had both cabs at the time, the bubble cab was light years ahead, car like solid shutting doors that even glass only ones cannot match nowadays.
The spool lever was the same in both cabs.
