Was thinking it was running a bit 'clean' (white,).....Smoke isn't as black as it should be.....

Put the big flail on my 674 today and gave it a good decoke. Missus said there was an awful lot of black smoke when I first started, there was none when I finished.

Hammer blades that will deal with branches up to 6". Awesome machine that takes less to work than I expected but it was certainly working the tractor.
The real purpose of the machine is to pulverise the prunings in the orchard after winter but does a tidy job of mowing off the grass too. First cut this year, always feels a waste to just mow it off rather than have a flock of geese eat it down.

Neglected!
I wasn't able to prune them this winter so they are not at their best.
Other than more primary mildew showing in the Cox they are not bad. Nice lot of blossom that seems to have set very well, hopefully there will be sufficient June drop to give a reasonable size fruit.
Have sprayed once for scab so far ant that is it, could do with a post blossom insecticide to clean up a bit but nothing I have seen is too worrying. Sprayer tractor is out of action so no option there anyway, or not one that doesn't involve the 674 with a rather ventilated cab anyway.

Photos are in wrong order, ground was ploughed, flat rolled with 674 then power harrowed then Cambridge rolled, grass seed spread by hand with one of those handheld lawn spreaders (actually about 20 years old so also a classic) then zigzag harrowed with 35 and flat rolled again.
