The existing TFF classifieds system is going to be taken down and sent to the scrap bin it belongs in next week and replaced by something new and shiney !

To achieve this classifieds will be closed from Monday morning until Friday evening

all existing adds ( well anything less than 3 months old) will be imported to the new system so don't worry about any recent adds you may have going missing and they will still be viewable in the threads created in the for sale forum

................wish us luck !

One thing to note is it won't accept spaces, you have to use _ instead.
There appears to be a delete advert button, which didn't seem to work for me. The facility to delete adverts, and delete any derogatory comments, like you can on Facebook, would be nice.

I'm probably doing something wrong. Was just testing the system really.:D
I just fiddled about for a while till I got rid of mine as they were both almost a year old and long since sold

Edit- there is a little box on the top left of the advert that needs clicking on. A tick appears then delete works...

Or it did for me

You should be able to delete adverts, but you can disable them as well. The comments don't work this comments on TFF. We will explain this a little more. As the poster of the advert you have more control.

The old system was a mess with listings that were out of date. In the new system adverts have a lifespan of 90 or 180 days. If you don;t do anything the advert will de-activate at that point. You can of course re-activate for free, but it should mean the system stays more up to date.

That will be a lot better.

@Chris F in the wheel sizes box it won't accept anything other than a number, which means it's very hard to enter 650/65R38 for instance. Which buyers do need to see as it could be a 650 on a 42 inch rim or a 38" rim if you see what I mean.

It is set as a number as we only expected people to enter the 650 part. I've checked and it can't be changed to string without deleting it and adding it again. And that will delete all the tyre sizes that have been entered before. I could however add another field for Rim size for front and rear axle.

I would alter it then. i bet a lot of tyre ads are sold or out of date or forgotten about anyway.

This only applies to tractors as its a field in that category. But what about the new adverts over the last few days? The setting is new to the new system, so doesn;t apply to old adverts. Its another one of the improvements we have added.

I would alter it now. Then going forward it would be correct.
