The existing TFF classifieds system is going to be taken down and sent to the scrap bin it belongs in next week and replaced by something new and shiney !

To achieve this classifieds will be closed from Monday morning until Friday evening

all existing adds ( well anything less than 3 months old) will be imported to the new system so don't worry about any recent adds you may have going missing and they will still be viewable in the threads created in the for sale forum

................wish us luck !

So while we are in the options that you can add is there anything missing for tractors? We added:

Year
Make
Model
Gear
Dimension Of Front Tyres
Wear Of Front Tyres, mm
Dimension Of Rear Tyres
Wear Of Rear Tyres, mm
Tractor Type
Hours
Serial Number
Power, hp
Tractor Mileage

The idea is to get better information on listing.

This only applies to tractors as its a field in that category. But what about the new adverts over the last few days? The setting is new to the new system, so doesn;t apply to old adverts. Its another one of the improvements we have added.
Hope you don't think i'm being negative, i'm not the new look is a big improvement, but i understand there will be details to alter an it's prob best done sooner rather than later into.

tractor tyre wear is normally expressed in % terms, i.e.- fronts 420/70/28 50%....
tractor mileage isn't relavant as most don't have milometers .

instead maybe add an option for front links

Instead of Dimensions of front tyres, I'd put "Front tyre size" " Rear Tyre Size" and for wear description, you need to change it to wear %

Specific equipment box seams short? is that meant for key options? e.g. air con, gps etc... if so not much room.

Also the tyre wear box description says mm, not really needed as it's percentage wear, and the order of the list is all mixed up.

Fixed the mm - we can only have a 60 character limit on a string. We can't alter that I'm afraid. It isn't designed to replace the description box. That can have a massive amount of text. But this shows in the box on the right hand side.

Have fixed the tyre wear list. Can you check again?

All the mapping has gone wrong. We think the lat/long file for the codes isn;t working for some reason. That one is already with the developers.

That's a lot better. Top Work. The description might be better being called "Front Tyre Condition" "Rear Tyre Condition" that way it will be tidier when the ad is displayed. You can leave the hint in the drop down box the same. That's what other classifieds call it, sorry should have thought earlier. What do you think @Drillman ?

The other thing I have noticed is when the listings are displayed like in my pic below. It's not very obvious to click on the "name link" to view the full listing detail and description. I love the quick view box that pops up, pity you couldn't just have the large description below that and not go onwards to the full page.

Hope this is all of some help. @Chris F @Clive Please don't think I'm moaning to much. Only trying to be constructive. :):)

that looks well to be honest. A lot better than all the MM wear stuff that was on before. Only thing is if i were interested in that tractor i'm not going all the way to somalia to meet the seller

quick view box yesterday was pointless as the information was meaningless. looking at it now it tells me most of what i want to know as a browser or potential buyer.

Would be good to have the browse by category section from the main page at the top of the search page. So people can quickly jump to a category without having to either type/select something in the search box or go back to the home page to select a category.

@Chris F a suggestion. Why not use the dead space to the right of the picture in the quick view to put the description in?

You could almost get rid of the more detail page then altogether. The detail layout on quick view is actually better than the main page.
