Claydon drill - no forward speed?

Went to make a start yesterday afternoon, calibrated fine, dropped into the ground and realised there was no speed on the control box. Every now and then I get a phantom reading anywhere between 1-1000 kph!

Checked all the wiring and plugs, sprayed plugs with contact spray, checked RDS box under hopper, cleaned radar and swapped it for another but still no joy. Also checked power supply.

The backlight on the box sometimes flickers which makes me think the problem could be in the box itself? Anyone had anything similar? Tearing my hair out as it was fine last autumn.

That doesn't sound good. Have you rung James or Rob in the workshops at Claydon? Have you got any other speed sources e.g. GPS?

Artemis. Spoke to Rob who is now sending exchange box for tomorrow morning. I was already in touch with them but just wondered if anyone had managed to fix the problem before.

UPDATE - still haven't been able to fix the problem, drilled 200 acres using the simulated speed but now have a block on steep land to drill so really need the radar working! Tried new radar and artemis box and still no joy. Set the tractor at a steady speed and the speed on the drill varies massively:mad::mad::mad:
