Hi all, can anyone who has purchased a Claydon drill recently tell me what discount they received on list prices? I am considering buying a 3m fert under the FETF scheme and don't want to get ripped off by the local dealership - TNS in Norfolk. Any help gratefully received.

Good to see that you obviously have a trusting relationship with your local dealer :ROFLMAO:

The base price for a 3m Claydon Hybrid is £35,995
That was posted last October by Claydon. Gives some idea I guess, likely to be another 5k on that now.

Thanks all, TNS want £54k for the seed and fert 3m mounted! Haven't made a decision yet as seems mighty steep. What are people's views on this model? Any experience good or bad?
I see they now have a new model launching soon. Evolution is it called? Looks like an improvement with the discs in front that you can hydraulically raise and lower. And hydraulic depth control, that would be an improvement.
Maybe speak with claydon, see if there's a demonstrator for sale anywhere?

I’ve got quotes of circa £40k for a seed only. An alpego combi is same price, think it was fert/grain though.

At these prices I’ll need a long lost uncle to leave me 500 acres or just get a contractor in.

What options did £54k quote get you. Shear or Hydraulic stone protection?, pre em markers? Bout markers ? Extra depth wheel? LD setup (disc & twin tine switch out kit)? blockage sensors? GPS VR? There’s quite a range in price depending on how you pic n’ mix the optional kit.

Hi NeepClatter, thanks for your reply. Spec as follows: Shear bolt, bout markers, additional single disc set up, pre em markers, no blockage sensors, no GPS, no extra depth wheel

IMHO I’d say you’re in the ballpark on price, bought the same model recently for the same money with a little different mix of options.Tried haggling like hell and that’s where we ended up. Nothing is cheap nowadays.

Claydon drills last well. Ours is the 9th one made. Fertilizer hybrid stone pro. Done a lot of very hard work on poor land at the start. Helped get us to another better farm. Still a great drill today. Won't ever sell it as it's too useful for the job we do.
