Don’t hear much about t-sem on here. Does anyone have any experience?
There were a couple running the t sem drillsDon’t hear much about t-sem on here. Does anyone have any experience?
I had a look at them on line did not like the look of the spring time holding the t boot . Thought on stones they may snap
Have you had any demos yet whindy ?
How was it put in with the claydon what was the stubble management like also the conditions ? Did they use a hybrid drill or one of the older types ? Were you following a break crop or into a 2 nd cereal situation
The Sr will still pull up stones, they just have hydraulic break back.Followed oats raked and sprayed . The problem was the contractor! We assumed he new what he was doing. In hind site it was to wet the bands filled with water and drained poorly. The wheat sat in mud all winter so did not put roots down. Then the dry summer hit it .Drought finally did for it
The drill was probably not at fault just operator.it was not an sr so pulled up a lot of stones.
Strip time drills like the Mzuri and Claydon will fetch stones up for years and rolls will not bury them well. I’m forever picking big sandstones up. Luckily the flints smash up with rolls. Don’t skimp on PGRs for a while as you really don’t want to be picking stones out of the combine. No till will gradually bury them as the worms will bring soil up. Look at Roman roads to see what 2000 years does with topsoil creation and recycling. They are all buried.
Maybe a bit more 220/240 on heavy if you want to get a bit done but would add that the extra hp is seen in the work that the front leg does
Minimum 270hp a lot will be down to how much you want the front leg to doHow much HP would you need for a 4 metre on heavy land?
Minimum 270hp a lot will be down to how much you want the front leg to do
Thanks for the info... Think I’ll demo the 3m,Chap round me has 375 on tracks on 4m. Stiff ground, and some hills though.
