Clayton sr drill seed boots

I have a clayton sr seed drill and would like to make the seed rows wider(less space between the rows).
Currently as all claytons i work with a 7" share and a split seed boot attachment at the back of it but would like to go to a minimum 9" share.
Bourgalt do not do a split boot any wider than what i have already and have tried a 9" share with existing split boots which make no difference.
Are there any other manufactures that make a complete unit to sow wider which will bolt on to the existing leg

I have no experience of a claydon, by would it be better to fabricate some kind of twin tine kit so you have two rows either side of leading time?

That's interesting, I was going to try a wider share in the spring, don't see why some of the seed wont get thrown that far.

Rather than having a boot opening out to spread it, I tried a tine drill years ago which effectively had a splash plate mounted down behind each sweep share. The sweeps covered the full with and the field came up an even carpet of wheat with no obvious rows. I'm sure a splash plate boot could be made for the Bourgault holders.

Thanks ,That sounds a good ,I may have to narrow the seed pipe at the base where the seed comes out which will force the seed out quicker .In turn it will throw the seed further once it hits the splash plate.

What 9" share did you use? Spaldings show some quicklock one's but not sure if they fit.

I do not think that Spaldings quicklocks do fit the Clayton other than the ones that they recommend in their book.
You will get 9" shares from Martin LIshman orPan Anglia.
