There was a circular sponge that was meant to slip over the drenching nozzle and mark each sheep done on the side of the mouth.

I bought a pack, but found the dye went everywhere, and that I'm not too keen on looking at vampire sheeps afterwards.

Especially as it was blue
I remember these when I left school!
All they need to do is make a drench gun that holds a crayon in the handle.
I only ever drench in a race or clamp so no need to mark anyway.

Also on another note i have used clikzin on lambs that i will start drawing in june. I see clik and clik extra have a 14 day withdrawal period in NZ and Australia but 40 here. Why is this? Id of much rather used it for everything and not clikzin.

Same as using rubber rings......... same packet but it tells you if you are in the UK you are only allowed to use them in the first 7 days, but Australia and NZ can use them in the first 40 days.

Perhaps Southern Hemisphere sheep are different !! :scratchhead:

I used a ‘NZ’ ram once ( although it hadn’t ever seen NZ)...... which rules apply to those !

I think you can ring them at any age. :sour:

That's kind of what I mean, it's the skin that the maggots attack, if that has got enough Crovect on it to stop ticks, for example, surely the maggots would be stopped too.
Different modes of action, clik is a growth regulator so when the maggots hatch they don't grow big enough to bite. Crovect works by killing them on contact But doesn't spread through the fleece like clik

Speaking of adding dye’s @Bury the Trash anyone ever added food colouring to clear wormer? A friend is using cydectin oral and was saying to me the other day about how much of a nuisance it is you can’t see if a lamb is done like when you can with yellow/orange wormers..

Do you mean to see if there are any air bubbles in the applicater & tubing?

I once put a vegetable based blue dye in Ecto fly & the sheep were blue for six months.

That’s brilliant!
Not so much about air bubbles but to see if they’d been done When you’ve got a mass of lambs together going nuts in races over 3’ the odd 1 can get passed. I’ve been bolusing today in a race 40x5’ taping down to 2’, not easy when it’s wide by yourself so my loader was next to me stopping them from passing.
