Climate change is here.

Maybe it is, up here it either rains every day for weeks, then it dry for weeks, nothing in between. And you get more frost in march than Dec or January, also nearly every May for the last 5 years has been done dry, this may was wetter but been very dry june+July.

And what are we going to do about it, ban aviation, ban single use plastic, stop shipping useless tat from china, ration fuel use? We will do nothing as no one is prepared to do without and it would be political suicide for politicians to enforce the necessary measures.

Spot on, but still we keep hearing (Steve Wright yesterday!!) that cows are the world killing, climate changing monsters.

Then you see the endless line of planes at Heathrow, or that the cruise companies are back at sea with their oil guzzling fume pumping ships.

I am afraid I do not take the issue of changing climate that seriously, as if it is a reality that man has caused a problem, then there is Sweet FA I can do about it as an individual. When I see avgas being taxed at the same rate as my DERV, then I might think again...

Of course it is here!
Why on earth wouldn’t it be?
(No pun intended)

All the symptoms are correct for it and it has been happening ever since about the 1870’s.
So why does it suddenly make the news today as if it has only just happened?

Sensational journalism is the reason why.
Anyone remember something similar about “acid rain” a few decades ago?

That's very specific, and recent...

Are you saying there was no 'climate change' between all the different 'Ice Age's' which have occurred?

International aviation and marine are pretty low emitters when it comes to GHGe (1.9% and 1.7% of the total, respectively). However, like livestock (5.8%), they're useful whipping boys for those who'd prefer you to not look at GHGe from their sector(s), such as energy use in industry which is responsible for 24.2% of all GHGe.

Figures from "Climate Watch", WRI (2020).

No, there certainly was “climate change” between them. Though not “man made”.

The point I raise is that todays news says that Climate Change is here, as if they have have only just noticed it.
What a surprise!

Over half the United states (32), haven't set a new maximum temperature since the 1930's.

Washington set a new record this year , but afaik all the rest are correct.

I study the weather quiet a bit, if you do some research you will find that extreme weather is not new. you will also find that things can change very quickly like the end of the medieval warm period 1315/17. then you have to wonder about the decline of polar bears, numbers are going up rapidly, fact. if you go to Australia the locals will say that the barrier reef is fine snd if the the bush was burned regularly in the winter like it used to be the fires would be less of a problem.
if you look it up they are still building runways in the Maldives, Al Gore has a beach front mansion and the pontificating privileged celebrities are burning more carbon than they say we should. if I was I little cynical I would suggest there is a little hypocrisy going on.

I do wonder if there will come a day in the future when climate change or at least our present understanding of, and efforts to do something about it will be proved wrong/laughed at, plenty of examples on this thread already of mixed up thinking.
It’s all the cows fault 😂😂😂

That’s not to say that humans use and miss use of the planets resources isn’t without fault.
