The clips that swing over the wire to hold it on , I'll take pictures for you.

Are they not made of stainless steel so not to rust ? :scratchhead:

I put some Clipex up when it first came into the Country and it still looks like the same today as when it was first erected............and we farm close to the coast.

The wooden fencing we did at the same time, has very few decent posts left.

Clipex has a place , it's a pity about the owner , he hasn't a clue how to do business with people this side of the world , he fell out with me because I wasn't advertising the fact that clipex is made in China. He has refused warranty claims on rusting clipex claiming that the warranty means that the fence will be standing after 30 yr even if it is rusty.
I guess you are talking about the Australian owner rather than M V P?

Yes MVP are a great company to deal with , they had their own issues with the Aussie as well. I know a lot more than I can write on here but I never met anybody like him , he just will not take any advice on how we work this side of the world , and he doesn't learn. I have an email from him about his reply about warranty claims , I must root it out and stick it on here and see what you think .

Been looking at my first project this morning and I find that the Beefys have rusty clips as you say. Seems to be quality control on that batch.as none of the Standards are affected.
I reckon the clips will actually have to rust away, all 8 of them, before there will be a problem.

Looking to try some clipex fencing this year.
Approx 550m to fence off a ditch.
Will need to be 7 line plain wire plus barb to allow debris through during floods.
Thinking of 3m spacing between the standard posts and using a beefy every 4th.

Considering clipex for single wire electric to surround and separate paddocks, currently using crappy wood. I thought I had heard of a 'hot post' where the electric wire is clipped directly and the post is insulated somehow at the bottom from the ground. This would stop the bu**ers from scratching and loosening the post. Don't see suchlike on MVP site - have I been told porkies?

Otherwise, can I get away with pasture posts knocked 2ft into the ground where I'll be pulling them ahead of the plough and eco posts beside the hedges? It's to keep tame B&W steers at bay.

Not seen an insulated post, but a second live wire lower down stops them rubbing the post

What spacing are people using for eco-posts on single hot wire? Most runs are 150meters long and half would be on a hedge line.

Mine are on 7, 5 or 4m spacings, depending on stock pressure. Upto 10m would probably be fine against a hedge.

I've moved to top electric and either 1 or 2 plain wires on some fences though - you can connect the whole run as an earth through all the posts that way, which works quite well if you don't have a great earth already, especially on longer runs.

Need to get some decent fencing up this year, have realised the fencing I paid for 10 years ago wasn't up to snuff, three questions, is this clipex fencing as good as it claims? What is a hot pigtail post? What's an eco post?
Oops sorry, 4/5 my neighbours seem a canny bunch, but do I need to consult them regarding boundary fencing? What's people's opinion on the new breed of hand held percussion post knockers?
Oops, 6, one of my neighbours stock got through his fence and had a couple of days free grazing....what should I charge him?
Only joking, but not being a farmer, what's the general course of action when this happens?
