Has anyone much experience on closamectin pour on
Is it all its cracked up to be.
Cannot find any reviews on it anywhere.
Vets say it's good and agri papers too.
All help appreciated.

Doesnt get very good reviews on here but i have never had a problem with it. Only use it in the late autumn now on vets advice, used a basic/cheaper ivermectin based pour on for last weeks spring/summer worm on vets advice too

Why don't the cattle like it?

My cattle would rather have a pour on than an injection. And I would rather use a pour on than injecting them.
They can’t soak it in properly as each beast has different skin type and thickness. They admit that 50% intake of the product is through beast licking each other which means dosage rates are skewed which gets me to the next point. Overdosing causes blindness which is irreversible or worse. Can’t be safely used on beast with their backs clipped as intakes are altered greatly. Oh and it doesn’t work anyway

Heard of untreated cattle in adjoining pens showing up residues in factory which must have been got by licking off over gates. Molecules are allegedly too big to penetrate skin properly. Makes me think it would be better dosed through feeder wagon.

Used it last year and was not impressed - (cattle still scratching). Admittedly I never clipped their backs before applying - which is maybe where I went wrong
