Putting some Oats and Phacelia in to be followed by spring Beans
Speed was a bit fast as I didn’t get enough oats into the mix so had to go 12 k to keep drill happy
Very happy with the drill though first time I’ve had a driver so could watch it work.
Variable rate for seed to be added this week
No liquid today but used it on OSR and it went well

Why did you choose the Metcalf over Dutch, Bourgalt or any other.
I've bought an old CO4 but not the points yet.
I just bought co4 and just looking round for points not sure what yet need to be little wider as have some black grass just hope the 250 m row are ok

250mm rows are fine for wheat. Metcalfe is the narrowest retrofit tine on the market. Perfect for little soil movement and therefore little black grass stimulation if drilling direct.

Dutch, Borgault etc are fine but will move more soil and consequently more blackgrass germination.

I run Dutch on a DTS and wanted to move less soil . Looked at the bourgalt but it’s still a fair amount of movement .
Metcalfe being 20 mins away is also a bonus
Cut some spring barley drilled with it today and no real difference between the 25 cm rows and the dts with its 5” share point
Tractor is running at 1400 rpm and showing 3l/h fuel usage
My only concern will be it pulling up too many stones as the rollers won’t have enough loose ground to push them back in

Well the pimping got a bit serious over the weekend
tried to set up VR applications via the Agtron system but the systems said No
Ended up ripping all the Agtron wiring off and starting again with an Isobus loom
Went for the Horsch system and It has installed really nicely all running from an x30 screen

This field was a flat rate but the drill is now running auto shut off as well as the VR just hope I've got the timings correct

What kind of cost was involved in converting it to Isobus on Horsch ?

Easy diy job ?

Price was about £1800 including a new tramline valve as the new software wouldn't support the older magnetic accord type ones
Yes not a bad job, all the wires are marked up (in german ) but sat with the parts list and google translate on laptop helped.
Horsch and Claas Eastern were really helpful and Nick Abbey was brilliant with the X30
Drill now sits about 12k in total
