So, I’m sitting and dinning at a business hotel in the uk. The menu has the calories of each meal which I’m fine with. It also has the kg of CO2 per dish… that I’m not fine with. See photo. British lamb is 4.9 compared to chargrilled hispi cabbage which is 0.7….. fried polenta cake is 0.4. WTF

The calculations some people use for Carbon footprint has more variations Heinz.

For example, some figures show aircraft travel is more environmentally friendly than car travel-but these figures assume every aircraft is always full and every car only ever has a driver and no passengers. And all forms of grazing livestock are bad for the Planet because of the amount of water that pasture uses-the fact that the water is natural rainfall is ignored.

And are they including the CO2 cost of getting the food from where it's grown to the plate?

Looking at that menu, I wouldn't be surprised if half the veg has clocked up more air miles Prince Harry visiting his granny.

And of course, because they have only shown emissions they fundamentally aren’t showing the total impact of each food on warming. They have perpetuated the kindergarden view that only emissions need to be looked at.

also ask how the burger +chips comes out lower than the Lamb rump.
If they are going to have the balls to state these facts, they really need to be able to stand scrutiny
