Coccidiosis calves

Morning, I've got a group of calves at the moment which have cocci. Treated on Sunday night with tolracol and metecam, they've practically gone off their cake completely, eat hay not to bad and straw, but they're steady still. Muck isn't to bad, and not seen much blood, just one speck I found. Anyone any suggestions in getting then to eat their food again? They are about 4/5 months old and had cocci about 5 weeks ago. Think if they're no better later might go and give them rapidexion as there's only 5 in the group, would you give them antibiotic incase of secondary infection?
Thanks

They’re probably feeling a bit rotten and under the weather, especially if this is the second time they’ve had it? I’d probably speak to the vet before giving steroids though, like you say they will lower the immune system.

Yeh that was my thinking, they didn't go off their food last time, however one had a terrible scoury blood. Really wish I'd cleaned the pen out better now after the first time. Once these are moved out I'm going to give it a thorough wash out and disinfectant and leave it empty a while as starting to keep getting a few cases in this building.

Gets a couple of these buckets, the Triple attack variety with Oragin (origano extract).

I’ve found them excellent at keeping coccidiosis at bay to the point this year I haven’t drenched the suckler calves with vecoxan.

I have no interest in the company however for us the product seems to work exceptionally well.

They look interesting. I'll look into it further. Thanks for the advice everyone, thankfully they are eating normally again now and looking a bit brighter. Going on to give everything a good clean after these have been turned out.

Personally I’d be using these buckets free access to any at risk calves.

I’ve had one bucket out with the end of march born suckled calves, about 35 in that group and they have only gone through half a bucket.

I put it away from the cows in a creep feeder to keep them from scoffing it however if they are reared calves it would be a lot easier.
