Role Title : Milker and General Farm Worker

Location : Llysfasi, Ruthin, LL15 2LB

Contract Type : Permanent, Full Time. Working 37 hours per week - candidates should be willing and able to work overtime as required.

Salary Points : AWB 4 £19,327 per annum + £14.30 per hour for overtime

Overview of Role

Coleg Cambria, Llysfasi are industry leaders in Landbased education with a long standing reputation in agriculture and are looking for a Milker and General Farm Worker to join their team.

You will be working on a busy 1000 acre agricultural college farm situated on the outskirts of the medieval town of Ruthin. Llysfasi sits within an area of outstanding natural beauty and boasts panoramic scenic views of Clwydian Range (ANOB).

Reporting to the Farm Manager you will be part of a team who is responsible for the milking and welfare of a herd of 450 cattle including the dairy herd plus followers and beef. The farm also has 750 breeding ewes. You will also undertake a range for farm duties including livestock husbandry and operate a range of farm machinery.

Accommodation: A house is available on site if required.

Working pattern - You will be required to work on a rota basis which will include alternate weekends.

Essential Requirements

  • You will ideally have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in an industry related subject or be willing to work towards one.
  • It is essential that you have recent milking experience with a good standard of stockmanship and be able to operate a range of agricultural machinery.
  • It is essential that you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • You will be able to demonstrate the ability to build a good working relationship and be a strong team player who is able to quickly adapt to changing circumstances and new ideas.
  • It is essential that you can display energy and enthusiasm.
