I have recently bought myself a collins teleshift to move logs around in a yard. I cant seem to find what hydraulic oil I should use. It doesnt have have any major leak issues, I would like to have on hand when needed. Does anyone own one or is familiar with this machine. Any information gratefully received.

Just had a word with a friend of mine who says that the three he knows of were all based on an IH unit and were hydro trans, he knew the engine was certainly a IH but wasn't sure whether the hydro was IH although he thought it probably was.

If the OP posts pics of the engine and gearbox etc there will be people who can identify the skid unit used.

I'm saying Ford. I have the Ops manual and the Parts manual.
This is from the Operators Manual for the TS240/2 and TS 440/2.

Which ever, make sure the pins are in good order. I have seen the mess after one has failed.
good machine to a pile of scrap in the blink of an eye

Maybe some were IH and some were ford. It seems weird that both my friend and I thought they were IH and I didn't prompt him. He was certain the engine was from a 574 and about 50 Hp. It wouldn't be the first time that sort of thing happened, take Moffet for example, some were Ford and some were MF. As has been said above, stick photos on here and someone will soon give you the answer.

My neighbour here had 3 I think. I reckon the first one was white, the second was yellow and the last one, a very late model, was red if I recall.

I think the red one was something to do with the Benson Group that built the last County tractors.

Could be hopelessly wrong though!

Correct. The red livery was brought out to encompass all the range at bensons for the royal show (89? 90?) - I was helping to set up the stand and we had a 440 a 304 and an 1184 county in the new colours along with some Bamford kit and a valmet

Got an old 440 which is based on a Ford 6600. Been an excellent workhorse but like me now in retirement. Bought second hand in 1997 the only repairs have been one hydraulic hose and new uj's in the 4WD axle, a starter motor and a few gallons of oil. Nobody mentioned green ones as mine is lime green.
Always put 32 hydraulic oil in the hydraulics and ATF in the torque converter.
