After no rain at all here yesterday it’s now incredibly dry again and crops are fast losing potential. About 10% of my OSR died off at flowering.
For these reasons I can’t sell anything forward and for the same reasons I’m not worried about not selling anything forward. The spring drought here shows no sign of abating and is worse than last year, when rain arrived soon enough to save things. Not the case this year. Small harvests getting smaller here.

We wish. About 8mm total in east Cambs. You’d barely know we had had it. I’ve got some spring barley that will struggle to get to 5t/ha and some ww that will struggle to teach 7 😢😢😢😢
Join the club. The “easterly wind blows all the rain away club”. It’s getting tiresome. Third year in a row of spring drought and each time worse. Can see grain production moving north and west. What do we grow? Wine and olive oil.🙂
