Hate to break it to you but ukraines 2020 harvest was 38million tons of corn and over 60 million tons including legumes etc. The ukranian flag is blue and yellow to highlight the two biggest masses....... the sea and the corn fields !

Yeah but how much of it is left, in marketable state and situation? I don't deny for one minute their importance in the world grain trade but also don't believe they have that much warehousing close to the ports.

Some is now conrolled by the Russians

before the war they could ship 5 million tonnes per month so would have a lot of port side storage
or a lot of rail trucks to get it to the port

whatever the figure the world price is decided by what the market thinks
in the uk the price is decided by what the buyer will pay and the farmer will accept

current Prices for November are determined by export price
if the market believes we will produce more than uk usage we will export grain from the south coast

lower prices currently are maintaining demand a number of countries now buying for autumn delivery

Putin will send a couple of big ones in to Odessa , that should quantify the situation
Russia cant send any more ships into the Black Sea because Turkey has closed the Bosphorus to their ships.

None of the remaining Russian ships have missile defence systems so would be easy targets for Ukrainian missiles based in Odesa.

The Moscva was their main missile and air defence ship and their missile defence system seems to be as useless as a lot of their other equipment.

Well I’ve got the Fert for 23 harvest payed 712 for 26n 37so3. Couple of loads of urea at 735. Last one at £700. Wheat really needs to be £260 for nov 23 or I will not sow any.

To roll over or not,I've got several 100 ton left over from 21 harvest, spoken to several grain traders and they have all said to roll it over tiĺl the autumn.
Farmers have stopped selling I've been told and it's gone very quiet, luckily I have storage.
Anyone else rolling crop over or with a crystal ball?

If rolling it over I think you may have to wait till after Christmas at least, if not Easter to get an improved price.

Supply and demand are causing prices to drift as harvest approaches and there is a glut to shift.

Many will want to sell at the “high” prices after harvest to take advantage where they missed out last year.
