There's a huge glut, now's a time to sell the market will be very depressed until spring next year......that's the old flannel I've been getting from merchants which when they start ringing it's usually a sign of things about to go up.

A friend got offered 10er over feed for group 4 soft feed wheat as the protein, hagberg and bushel weight was good, he wa told it would go into haygates mill.

Won't be a huge glut if EU maize is down 10m t

No. Hagbergs all high. Protein is the problem. They will have to drop the 13 percent starting point, just like they dropped the 76kg bushel down to 72 ten years ago. Typically, just after I'd already shifted my milling wheat.
Why will they have to drop the 13% Protein spec? if they need 13% and you cant supply it tough.

Because there isn't enough. I mean, yeah they can import from Germany and Canada.

Last time, when it was clear there was no 76 bushel milling wheat, they dropped the spec to avoid excessive claims having it sent as feed.

Warburton's seem fine with 12.5 as a starting point.

Anyway, I don't grow it so give precisely zero Fuchs.

An exception to every rule. To be fair Viterra / Grainman rang me ten weeks ago suggesting I lock some in at 310.
I later sold at 250 needing space!

£30-40 above feed wheat depending on location.

winter beans great
Spring beans…… seed back +20%?

Spring beans yielded 3.2 t/ha here yesterday. Nice bright sample, no staining but quite a few holes in them. Considering they’d had almost no rain since drilling I was pleasantly surprised.
HSS, minimal spend, no nitrogen fert, only took an afternoon to clesr 25 acres. They’ll surely leave a margin of £100 an acre.

This is interesting from a technical trader I follow suggesting that 260 has been a very important support level that once broken lead to 300 plus ............ but who knows hey !
