OATS ! Was offered £133 ex for Mascani today, anyone know if that's where it is ?, doesn't seem enough

Sounds about right. Sure I saw a post on here somewhere or another a few days ago talking of contracts for this year being wheat -£7/t.

Mine from last year being uplifted tomorrow. Contract was half at Nov wheat futures and half on spot price. Reckon I'll be doing well if averages £120-£125 as never closed Nov futures price and have a feeling it will have been closed out prior to rise after harvest. Spot element could well be harvest price rather than now too.

Because there are too many stupid farmers that spunk their sub on it, in the full knowledge that it will never make a profit, but "it's an early start to harvest, and it gives me a good entry for rape"
OR another view may be barley yields have been on the up for the last few years, 4 ton/acre is not uncommon (last year excluded!) It's cheaper to grow than wheat (less chemicals, good for environment!) the straw is worth a bit and yes it does give us something to do in July!
