yep, the best bit about ff is if you glean the advice/opinions given on here with a bias towards the farmer, as a farmer/cereal grower you will have benefited this year

I think this is one of the biggest potential strengths of the forum and social media in agriculture - the early insight we all get here re growing condition, yields, prices being charged and paid for various inputs and commodities without doubt benefits my business decisions

Somedays I think I waste far too much of my time on here...................and others I think there is no better use of my time !

Totally agree, TFF is one of my useful Agri tools, not all the information is good the trick is gleaning what is from the B'S

The French election is now too close to call even though the polls give Macon 60 % of the combined vote against m le pen

Le pen has now stepped down as leader of the front nationale
Hoping to take more votes from the centre

Still believe the weather will have a bigger say than any other factor for grain prices

Openfield spring pool base price £303.36 - more than 50% was marketed before june 16.
Easy with hindsight to do better BUT is it good policy to market over half before harvest and 10 months before the end of the pool period ?
Would be interested see how others have performed.

Risk management ahead of what was expected to be an 'Remain' Brexit vote, and at that time there was no suggestion that the crop would be as small as it would be I guess. Makes sense in hindsight - remember prices back then were £250/270.

Had the spot price been £250 then selling 50% back then would have been inspired. Now it looks like it was premature.

The pool which was marketed after harvest achieved £350/t.
