Anyone had any new-crop prices? Speaking to one of my merchants this morning they seem to have been in a sideways movement for a while now! Wondering if currency dipping off might have give them a lift?

Looks like new crop has crept up a bit this week with old crop falling by more to almost meet it.

July futures price £143.50 with November at £142.

Why the jump in barley price for Dec? That merchant must still be short for then but well covered for the autumn. The differential should be £10/t for wheat & barley on the basis of nutrient value but I appreciate that they are 2 separate commodities with different S/D characteristics. Barley should be competing with US maize harvest imports by then.

The more I look at wheat around here, the more I am wanting for my barley.

Blimey it's a bit different to Norfolk.
Sold 2 trailer loads(30 ton) on Friday £121 delivered.

I'm on holiday in cornwall at the moment,I should have hitched a trailer on the disco and brought a load down with me!
