I have done a couple of loads of barley at £136 Sept movement, if that helps.
If it makes anyone feel better, I did about 1/3 of wheat (feed base price) £141 same day.

Locally they are quoting £136 for feed barley off the combine in July, would be madness selling for that given the weather, winter barley is looking good compared to what it was in April, but I don't see how any of the spring barley can do more than about 1.5t,acre with no moisture.Needs to be £150 to make me think about selling any.

something i cant quite understand is how trade wars is bearish for grains.

yes i understand tariffs protectionism etc etc but this is within the context of record demand, which is i would say fairly inelastic. my prediction with all these concerns over trade terms and market access is one day soon there is going to be a tipping point where even the great and good realise SH*T we got too caught up on the intricacies of the deals, and now we actually need the stuff .........we need to import it, to hell with putting off cheap imports, they are now not so cheap as other governments are realsing the same and bidding everything up!!

wishful thinking??

Some factors for the market are short term even as short as seconds
Others are long term
As farmers we are generally interested in long term except in the hour we sell

This week short term have lowered prices but long term factors chive bounce back
Dry hot weather next week will test the buyers resolve to keep their costs down
Still holding for new crop
