Joy to be able to quote acres!!
Dropped into my inbox today. Illinois USDA end harvest production forecast - note this is a forecast based on crop area and yield as estimated by USDA, so the following is on a 'if realized basis'
Corn - highest ever yield per acre, third largest Corn harvest ever; 11million acres
Soya - highest ever yield per acre, largest ever Soya Bean harvest, 10.8million acres
Joy to be able to quote acres!!
Have you done any work on 2018 Potato crop in USA in respect of output ?
Think we have nearly as many empty boxes as filled boxes here.
See for yourself here; https://www.usda.gov/oce/commodity/wasde/

Not really - I do occasionally look at some of the USDA data - see Brisel has put up a link.
Do have a browse occasionally. I gather the area around Great Lakes lifting is drawing to a close having experienced a difficult time in past three / four weeks with wet conditions and some early severe frosts which has led to crop loss in field - estimate I noted when reading a report earlier in the week was upto 10% of the region crop and that processors (frozen chips etc) were adjusting contracted loading dates to moving stocks into factories. Maybe a local on here who might post. Long way to transport them to UK thank goodness.
Although I think it might get more interesting yet !!
I don't know whether this is being optimistic or pessimistic?????
