I think @Clive is still holding so knowing how well he runs things I think you still may be fine.
I’m getting stuck into buyingbarley for the cattle now. £154 spot. May come down a bit more yet, but think mid 140’s is the very lowest it will go6 weeks time the grain maize will run out, according to the merchant who rang today, so barley may well be needed then.
That’s my opinion this year. Get it in the barn first. We have had a very dry winter here after a very dry summer. If next summer is even marginally hotter/drier than average, then our yields might even be less than last year. On top of that there is fair bit of weather and political chaos around the world.
I have nothing sold forward and intend to keep it that way. If nothing else I can sleep at night, knowing I don't have obligations that I might not be able to fulfil.

Nov futures took a big hit yesterday. Back over £3
Yes things are never as good or as bad as they first seem.At the end of last August cereals, straw, fodder and potatoes were expensive.
Jump to current prices and only hay and silage have held their own . Everything else is on a downer.
Think there are some lessons to be learnt this year.

You have more faith in my ability than I do !
It’s not over yet but as always hindsight is the best sight, my strategy this year is certainly a high risk one !
no one can’t always get it right, we all have to accept that
........ we will see
Would you roll over harvests ?
Does Marjorie work in situations where you have oversold, surely not, else none would ever get bought against?
don't have enough space and cashflow wouldn't stand it unfortunately
in an ideal world though it would be great to be in a position to do that
