I've literally just got back in from driving round the farm. It's DRY.
146mm here is dry so 70mm must be like the desert !

are crops coping OK or suffering / loosing potential ?

Spring crops looking very mediocre.

Winter crops still OK, but there's nothing on the forecast so it's not going to be pretty.

At least in 1976 wheat was selling for £600/t...

Although dry have to say our farm looks very well. A good rain shortly and it will have full potential. This time last year still had all spring crops yet to plant as was too wet but this year finished drilling in February and look great if a bit dry. Just need to catch a good rain in the next couple of weeks.

It’s looking a bit damp here next week (Lincoln) but we aren’t suffering yet with drought, these cold eastly winds and night time frosts have stopped everything growing.Only had 90 mm of rain since Christmas Eve but at least we have had enough rain to wash the fert in soon after we have applied it

You getting any rain down there??

Just looked at the rain radar and hope it makes its way here.

No rain yet, they keep forecasting it but it never arrives. Panicked to get Slerotinia spray on before the rain in some slightly “breezy” conditions ;) looks like I didn’t need to panic.
Very cold here in the east wind which has really dried things up the last few days. Crop growth is now very slow. Looked like we were in for an early T1 on wheat but it’s moving back to normal. Thinking I may put balance of N on if it’s looks like staying dry.
Feeling comfortable at present with good stock of silage left over from this winter and more acres of grass shut up for 1st cut.
Reckon it’s a bit dryer up with you.

Mate on holiday near St Ives. Been raining a good part of the day he was saying. Was asking how much back here! Zilch so far

Rain finally arrived, 3mm so far ........ might be rained out by time it gets to Okehampton

Just looked at my weather station app. Looks like they’ve had 18mm at Hayle and 21mm at PEnzance today
