why would covid in developing countries put the wheat price up?

Markets should be driven by supply and demand. But once the majority of trade in a good is actually speculation, then the drivers become fear and greed.

Anyone but the USDA has known there will be less maize. Anyone but the UK forecasters has known there will be a low UK cereal crop. Weve known it for ages.

Why do developing covid cases matter? Look at the graphs. 90000 cases. One day. They are running at half a million a week. What it means is, that despite the best efforts here, the minute we think it's over it will all kick off again.

Fear. Greed. And the reality that stocks are tightening, and in the "wrong" place.

Yup. Not so much maize in USA - shock horror. Not so much barley in UK - shock horror. Pound about to drop of cliff - shock horror. Developing countries about to see covid calamity & 10000 cases in France.

You'd think any of this was actually surprising.
And how much f-ing wheat has Germany got to sell , surly Must come a time when they hold it due to what’s going on?
