presume some was sold before you took commandHow many TFF members sold all their wheat at the top of the market? None, I’ll bet. £180 average here.

Well I decided to stick it out ,first sale £200 forward sold forJune movement.Sold tonnages at £205,210 and 215 ,again June movement.135 tons still to sell, turned down 208,forJune,last Thursday evening, have I done the right thing ?.I must say there are years when I have got it wrong and I'm lucky that it's my own wheat so answerable to no one.How many TFF members sold all their wheat at the top of the market? My average,2020 harvest, would be about £208 for feed wheat.Ive been lucky,I know, but I just don't understand people committing wheat ,in pools,to their buyers. Its obvious what the buyers are going to do if they're a little short at certain times.
Again ,I admit,I've been lucky. All sales through a local merchant and we are fortunate to have a large mill, circa 1000 tons/day, about 14 miles away.
My problems arise when I don't sell and wheat declines,in value, all season.
I promise I will,a pint of our local Butty Bach, pure nectar. You're right im a long holder and the market has been kind to me this season.I could tell you about my disasters, but won't,in case my neighbours have sussed out who I amYou’re a long holder which works well in a rising market. Well done - I’ll buy you a beer if & when we meet. In a falling market you can do the same for me

Only managed 1 load of ww in the 200s. Average more like 175. Barley averaged only 140ish as a lot had to be moved at harvest. My forward sales for next harvest are currently not looking great and neither are the crops if we don’t get rain soon it will be really bad. Dunces hat for me. At least I fudged it up by myself without any help from a pool trader.
