Out of interest, what is the correct way to deal with 'Nov wheat' that hasn't been collected?
I've called the rep twice, and reminded him that it was sold to pay December bills. Am I obliged to roll it over into December uplift and accept a paltry £1 carry?
At what point can I legally tell him to tear up the contract as he's buggered up my cashflow?
Or am I potentially obliged to carry it all the way to June for 7 months x £1 carry fee?

14 days after month end unless term's agreed and informed both parties. Had one 12 months since , sold as Nov contract and failed to get in touch till the 22nd Dec. Fell out about it but they didn't pursue the matter as they knew the terms and hoped we'd just role over

No, but not a small company by any means.
The strange thing is they were keen to buy it as they were "very short for November". They did call last week to organise fixings for early December, but then cancelled when they realised they were trying to send hard wheat into a soft wheat destination.

had a good ring round today, not your area leices, but big variation in prices local homes dont need it yet good carry for keeping it till feb march best prices coming for nonfeed homes! we think we better start marketing it pig and poultry job could get iffy.

Ask him to pay you earlier.

Its not great form to be trying to not go with a contract even if its super tempting. They will have had a home for it and won't be just the merchant your affecting
