I sit here watching this unfold, wondering if or when to sell, at the same time some poor souls in Ukraine are fleeing for their lives with whatever they can carry.

They are. I've good friends with family there and just wading through my FB messages. The view is that a lot of this morning's combat was targeted on military depots etc and not on civilians.

Anyone selling tell the merchant you will not be putting a red tractor sticker on the passport

I suspect that will be juts fine right now
In previous runs on banks in history, industry members would gather together to make plans to limit the falllout. Im sure there can't be a modern grain equivalent.

markets are far more exciting when bullish - i don’t do short selling so have nothing interesting to say when markets are falling

this thread in general gets far more views and posts when things are actually happening
Haha, you’re like all my grain traders. Only ring when price is about to go up, never when it’s about to fall

sky news an hour or so ago actually mentioned that the ukraine situation may have an impact on the price of bread!!!...........i doubt the bbc have made that assumption yet

May do, although currently prices I can get are not the highest I've sold at this year, so no reason to panic buy flour.

Anyway, we all know that wheat at £500/t doesn't do much to the price of a 800g loaf of hovis. Not when average house prices rose 9 percent last year for zero effort (or tax in many cases).

not realy suprising that basis is now at the normal level compared to futures
most buyers will have enough till may
so the main home for new sales will be futures store

unless some one can capture eu prices at 335 euros and get a cargo for export !!!!
