Combinables Price Tracker

prices on a downward trend both in the uk and overseas i fear that prices will now drift down to £180 oldcrop may wheat untill there is news on the planting and condition of spring planted crops in the usa russia china and india .
the financials are also liquidating their holdings to reduce their risks
uk condition and crops will be irrelivent but currency weakness will help

YB- I get the feeling consumers are buying hand to mouth, with plenty of cover Feb, but I bet there's still stuff to cover March, April and somewhere in the trade they will be very short physical wheat May-July. 6 months till UK combines role, and with little harvest pressure, I think we could still see a few little spikes yet.

My feelings too. I know this is by no means a typical year but prices are often depressed between December and May IMO

the cbot corn has had the longest no of days down since 1965 so price falls in the uk are related to that

to day is up is it a dead cat bounce

in the uk a lot of grain has been imported current prices will stop fresh imports so june july will be interesting especially if crop are late but is we get a dry june july then an early harvest that stops the need for imports the spring summer 2014 will be interesting

Always annoying when storing grain for months leads to a reduced price. There's been a number of years in the last ten where dumping it all at harvest has seen about the top of the market. :(

Sorry to maybe repeat my self but as always never sold forward. Always held stock of long term cereals like Wheat and Maize. Always sold harvest rape, sunflower, saffron, Soya etc..

Yet again got it right this year. Storage is a farmer supplied in put to buyers.

Can't seem to quote posts from iPad.

An Gof, offered £175 for April Barley today. Seems low compared to yours.

Who was that with? PM is preferred

Thanks
Jerry

Soybeans threw the roof tonight, hold onto your hats, I bet £400 ex March/April will be on the cards soon....if you don't sell it all at £400 what do you want? I expect to fill my boots at that.

Soyabeans have been trading in the 14 - 15 dollar range since November. They are'nt any stronger now than they were two weeks ago. The whole oilseeds complex is over done. If you don't sell on this latest rally you are risking running right into the massive Brazalian harvest (brz upgraded again today) and lets not forget Argentina have 'only' been downgraded to just the 50 million tonne crop !

As so often when beans are in the teens, buy em or plant em. Excuse me said that on a forum months ago. ;)
