If you were an idiot and could have sold your OSR for £325 2-3 months ago but declined and then got offered £285 today would you sell or hope and pray there is a bounce in the not so distant future?? [emoji85][emoji35]

First loss is the best, so sell now. Unless you know of a reason that will bring the price back up?

Jeremy Cole (Agricole) says sell out if you need the cash or space but hold if you want to take the risk of a weather market developing later on. I've no idea & still have half mine in a merchant's store until June. I'm inclined to leave a sell order at £308/t and review it in April if it hasn't got to that then. IMO we'll see currency volatility that will move the price at least £5.

Top £120s milling £105 feed down here last week, by all accounts.
Got some a bit grey and am rather hoping they don't get downgraded.

Offered the same £137.50 for feed Wheat ex farm, feed mills say they wont re-formulate till end of march. I would have thought wheat is looking good value now.

Why is futures market so disjointed from physical prices?

March 18 wheat futures £135.25.

Reason I'm concerned is I sell a lot of our malting spring barley on £20 plus nov wheat futures contracts.

Would I be better not signing contracts and seling spot?

Sell wheat forward and it's futures price (world price), sell spot and it's futures +/- premium/discount, depending on how keen local users are wanting local produce.

Selling forward/locking in contract prices are supposed to be ways of reducing risk for your business. Wheat in this area almost always trades as a premium to futures, £8-£10 is not uncommon, so does selling forward increase or reduce risk?
