Of course, everything costs. But nothing wrong with attending with an open mind. Often the chats over the food is the best bit. Can’t get my education from TFF, otherwise I might get brainwashed with DD!

You would think there would be a market for someone to organise independent updates like these meetings during the winter. Guess the stumbling block would be farmers not willing to pay to attend. Next TFF project???

I agree he was a great resource and sadly missed but even Nogger had his grain merchant sponsors and data customers ! Nothing is ever quite what it’s seems in Uk agriculture

even what got drilled for many will be written off now

i’m going to stick my neck out and say 6 million T / £200 harvest feed

because they don‘t stack up for anyone who isn’t locked in an office, I’ve traveled length and breath of this country over the last 2 weeks and I can confirm that almost everywhere is in a very shite state right now

if members were prepared to do a more detailed survey, re areas planted, not planted and yield expectations then yes I’m sure we could

trouble is what do we then do with the result ? would it be in our interest as farmers to publish them or not ?

open to ideas as this is exactly the kind of thing we should be doing together to shift the balance of power back in our favour in this industry

Had four phone calls from merchants today (one 3 times),bidding went from 152 to 155 for March in the space of an hour! Think they might be getting a bit nervous.

Trouble is it would have to be every farmer and be honest ( no pub yields) or work out the the acreage you are supplied and divide that into the national average.

I'm sure most of you all have seen this, but I've started a poll on this subject here It's not as detailed as you've outlined as analysing all those variables to come up with a TFF harvest predictor would involve lots of statistical analysis beyond the capability of the forum software, unless you know someone with good Excel skills to crunch the numbers based on a few separate polls?
