1/4 of UK households have under £250 cash savings. They all vote. I don't expect govt policy - given in a year it will have only that tin of old peaches in the pantry - will be skewed to business balances.

Economy is built on spending . For most its on "sheeit you don't really need". For business it's often "kit you don't really need to save tax". They want money spent. This is a way to get negative rates without explicitly saying the words.

I get all that but if you look at at the spread of prices in the USA ,
they are alot closer for next harvest than ours .
I would say our forward prices are undervalued but nothing is a certainty.

I would like to think your right but there’s an awful lot of wheat gone in the ground here....and if we have a big harvest with import tariffs applied then we could be screwed this time next year?

At risk of going off topic, I don't think that's high on the list of priorities of the politicians willy waving at the negotiating table.

Pound stronger today ,the question is how much higher
would it go if a deal of sorts was put together?
Probably a short lived champagne upwards reaction ,and then
all the economic worries would stabilise it not far from
where it is today.

you can sell now for next year so eliminating the risk
but there is still a significant area still to be planted come next august there will be the lowest stocks in store possible

they said there was too much wheat in store this time last year and look what happened the lowest total harvest for 40 odd years
down 6 million tonnes of wheat and half the tonnes of rape

wheat then was £140 a tonne now plenty is going for 200

one thig when there is a big harvest we have all had descent yields

Been offered £192.50 for Low grade milling for Jan. About £5-6 above feed. Have not sold any wheat yet, and so this may be my first bit.
Milling ww sold this morning Move next week 210
I presume that is full spec milling? My Siskin is 12.4 protein. Only grown as we would if it was feed, so I was not expecting the protein to be higher.
