I disagree. The speculators exaggerate market movements but they always come back to supply and demand. More players in the market add liquidity. The speculators will short grain futures as much as they buy long positions if they see a market under or over valued.
Longs have to sell eventually and shorts have to buy before the positions expire and they have to take delivery of or supply physical grain to futures locations. These provide opportunities for growers to trade.

Which is why oil went negative last spring because they had to move it before the option expired but there was no storage to take it.

Don’t worry about hindsight. Just have a strategy that gets you a good average, not guess that this years price movements will be the same next year. Be content that you tried your best.

a sell signal to me would be a fall back to 203
the high last week will be the top if it falls to 203 even if it rises after the dip
if it only falls to 205 to207 then it could go higher than the 215
monday or Tuesday needs watching

My only add on, would be :Listen to the experts, the merchants and your peers, than make your own decisions. Also if you can see a good profit try not to be greedy and if the market is dropping like a stone, try not to panic.Good advice for everyone... cheers @Brisel

Tbh I just want them gone now as I need the floor space to get the barley out of the bins. It's one more load than I thought I had. Although a £15 under wheat contract would have put another £10k in my pocket.

Sorry, not very up to date, but I done a couple of loads mid December for £390 and it was picked up the next day or so.
This is what pools are for... you don’t make any more money, but you have someone to blame it on.
