Weight loss is nearer to 1.5 x moisture loss, so drying from 16% to sub 15% would equate to a weigh loss of 1.5% plus a bit for their safety margin below 15%, not the quoted 5% which is daylight robbery. It must be nice to unload 10,000 tonnes from store, and find an extra 350 free 'weight loss' tonnes left over.
Having sad that, a local grain company director used to boast about how much 'free' tonnage was left in his store after out loading the dried OSR, but he still went bust (no, not Inglis).
