Beats me a bit, these companies are making premium or specialist health foodstuffs, that fly off the shelves, and yet rye, oats, etc are always wheat minus contracts. Why minus; farmers are not good marketers are we?

supply and demand, feed mills have limited bin space and wheat has best feed value....

Looks like the oat buyers have dropped next years contracts £17 under wheat, so I've reluctantly changed my plans and will be dropping oats from the rotation. I say 'reluctantly' as oats grow well here and leave soil in such a lovely friable texture, but I'll be buggered if I'm going to manage a crop but be played like a deck of cards by buyers that always seem to want to flex their whip hand.
Quakers new trick is demand that all oat suppliers must be members of LEAF, as Red tractor obviously isn't awkward enough for us to deal with, on top of their 'modern slavery' questionnaires and 3 month delayed uplift...

How much have they dropped it by? Sorry to go off topic, but what oat varieties were you growing for them?

It’s not just LEAF membership they want, it’s LEAF Marque. I’m going to keep growing them for now. Not looking forward to the audit!
