How does that work then with May futures at £219?

Unsure. We've been in the situation where vivergo meant that the futures price was pretty much an ex farm price. But as mentioned elsewhere the gap grows and widens quite randomly. Sometimes vivergo pay more for feed than gp4 hards to a mill. It's not very clear cut.

Frontier app says:

May futures prices are 219.

why was I quoted £213 March then today ex-east mids?? (C*****a)
I've often wondered if it would be interesting to see if farmers using the same merchant were offered the same delivered price to the same mill, or if there was some kind of mechanic involved? I've seen how different ag chem customers get charged different rates for the same chem.

I genuinely feel the more I check the available contract price on grainman the lower it goes. 😁.

I would think distance between farm and mill would play some part into what’s been offered. A short hall would leave more meat on the bone.
We also have a merchant who will offer at least £3-4/t more to us to supply a local feed mill as the mill knows we put all our grain over a cleaner and it’s a short hall as well which makes sense to be fair. Unfortunately it’s not a high volume mill but they like our product and will pay extra for it.
